May be required to possess certification(s) as deemed necessary by the County. AICP preferred.

Position involves a considerable amount of contact with the public and with staff from other federal, state, and municipal agencies. Position also requires frequent attendance at night meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Special Qualifications:
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional level planning experience. Must possess a valid driver's license.

    Substitution: Additional progressively responsible experience in Urban or Regional may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

The successful candidate will also serve as staff liaison to the Economic Development Commission and attend other commission and council meetings as needed. Graduation from college with a four-year degree in urban or community planning or a related field plus three or more years of equivalent or related experience. A graduate degree in a related field may count as additional equivalent years of experience.
