The major problem with doggie day care...is that after just one day of day care, the dog smell like he was at the kennel for a week. I hate to bath the dog all the time.
A couple of bluejays made a nest right out my window. They are featherless right now.
Along the street front we have a forsythia hedge that grows like crazy. When we moved in, the previous owners chopped it down to about 10 inches high. I love the hedge to block views into the property and it is about 3.5 foot high now. The housemate wants it lower...a constant battle. Tonight I am going to give it a hair cut. A real garderner, I don't use electric or gas clippers.
A pair of geese had babies... 6 of them. Now the spring drama begins. The resident swans are very territorial and they will spend their days trying to kill the baby geese. It is horrible to watch. The Swans just break their necks. If the swans don't get them...the snapping turtles will try and get them from below. Who said life on a pond was golden?
Yesterday I had to cut down a big japanese maple that didn't survive the hot dry fall we had last year. Only one branch was in bloom this year. It was really a beautiful tree. After it was gone, I thought it would seem that something was missing and I would have to replace it soon. Ironically. it actually opened up the yard and provided more balance to the property.
It is 50 degrees this morning at 6:30 am. Having coffee in the travel mug outside with the old dog.
