Planning in the American West

Another beautiful day in Montana

Autumn in Montana is my favorite season. Today it is sunny and cool. The grass is still green, but the leaves of the trees are beginning to lose their green and the other colors are coming out.

Spent part of my weekend splitting the big pieces of wood in my woodpile to pieces that would fit in my fireplace insert. I hate to split wood when it is 10 below. . I love to split wood. It is therapeutic. Gives me a moment of competence when I do it right and the log splits away in two neat pieces. Frustrating when I cannot find the sweet spot and whop away at a knotty piece that just won't give up.

Weather is supposed to go back into the eighties. Maybe the last hurrah before winter.
