What's an RSS or Atom feed?

RSS and Atom are families of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as blog entries, news headlines, and message board threads and posts in a standardized format. An RSS or Atom document or feed includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship.

Click on the feed symbol wherever it appears to view and/or subscribe to the feed for any section, forum or subforum on Cyburbia. Some browsers may show a feed symbol in the address field when a feed is available.

For a custom feed of one or more forums, make a URL in this format:
    • XML: http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/external.php?type=xml&forumids=X,X,X
    • RSS 0.91: http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/external.php?type=rss&forumids=X,X,X
    • RSS 1: http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/external.php?type=rss1&forumids=X,X,X
    • RSS 2: http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/external.php?type=rss&forumids=X,X,X
    • Atom: not supported yet.
Replace "X" with the forum ID number, and separate them with commas if you include more than one. The forum number appears in the URL/address of the forum link from the Cyburbia Forums main page. For example, the forum ID number for Make No Small Plans (http://www.cyburbia.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?12-Make-No-Small-Plans) is 12.

Threads will be returned in descending order based on the date of their creation. Description information will be returned from the first post of the thread.

If &lastpost=1 is added to the feed URL, threads will be returned in descending order based on the date of the last post of the thread. Description information will be returned from the last post of the thread.
