The problem is that we are starting from a position that is already unsustainable: too many people consuming too many resources. Until that changes, nothing we do will be sustainable - it will be "sustainable". Our job , however, is to leave good patterns for after the correction, for people to remember, discover, emulate, and copy. In hopes it will be OK in the future and we wake up.
