My previous community allowed eaves to overhang two feet into the setback.Quote:

I have never worked anywhere that does it that way. Always an exception for eaves to extend 18 to 24 inches (depending on the jurisdiction) into the required setback, but setbacks are always measured from the exterior wall.Quote:

We measure to the building....but we have an unwritten rule...my rule. Exceptions apply to eaves, porches, etc. Vertical clearance my butt.
