Guess the Year #40 (Five Year Mission Edition)

An easy one for the fast reflexes crowd.

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

    My guess is 1965.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

    Six seasons and a movie!

Remember to please provide reasons/rationales for your guesses.....I am particularly interested in hearing mendelman's logic

1965, because the original run of Star Trek was short lived. It lasted only 3 years in the middle to late 1960s and cross marketing of this nature probably wouldn't have started until the second year of the show, and I believe the show started in 1964 and ended in 1966, so 1965 is the second year and thus the cross marketing.

It's hard to make a guess about a red x. But I like mendelman's reasoning.

And if his information was accurate it would be very fine reasoning indeed!

    So why not 1966 ?

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

<Sigh> Spock would be rolling in his grave, but I guess you two split the win.

The original series 'Star Trek' did indeed run for only 3 seasons as mendelman indicated - however, it ran from '66 through '69. This Kelloggs Sugar Smacks box was printed in the show's final year 1969.

Yeah...66-69....I realised as much after I looked at wikipedia, but that was after I made my original guess. I didn't want to be a take-backer, so left 1965 in my "reasoning" post, just in case your information was wrong.

I remember 1969 was the final year for Star Trek............but I do not think I ever watched it until the 70's............now I have probably seen each episode 10 times............he's dead, Jim................Jim, he's dead...........
