    new building type

Has anyone seen the following article:
    http://news.independent.co.uk/world/...p?story=477907

I wonder if this type of construction is used in earthquake prone areas, will it meet current IBC standards or if new ones will need to be adopted in order to satisfy building requirements. Any insight?

Khalili's headquarters is in CA and subject to enforcement of building code provisions for earthquakes.
