    Kiora and G'day

    Kiora Cyburbanites,

    Great site and discussion group!!

To introduce myself...originally from New Zealand I came over to Australia about 7 years ago. I studied environmental science and have become a Strategic Town Planner in local government on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. Previous to working in local govt I spent some time working for the State Department of Planning and a private planning consultancy, but in all I have just over two years experience in "the real world", and lovin it.

The Far North Coast is a beachy place experiencing major growth and tourism related pressures, and politics.....ahhh....politics (much the same anywhere no doubt). While the area I live in now is in many ways idillic (mild climate, golden beaches, and pretty laid back), I yearn to return to my homeland...hopefully in a couple of years. I am enjoying your pictures JNL, keep it up - help stave off the homesickness

The photo is of our backyard (and no we are just renting....dam!)

    Good to be here :-}

    welcome, glad you found us.
From northshore of the Ohio River in Indiana.
and yes, you can be on the northshore and be Kentucky.

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Welcome from somewhere between south central and central New York state, USA.

All these years the people said he’s actin’ like a kid.

Welcome Hipockethipy - good to have a fellow Kiwi on board!

I've got more photos from my recent holiday to upload at some stage - some from Akaroa and Picton

What's the story behind the name Hipockethipy?

Greetings from the north shore of the mighty Ohio River, Indiana side

I can't say that the view from your rented place is too hard on the eyes.
    Enjoy Cyburbia!

Hello and welcome. You need to tell us where on the north Coast you are. I used to live in Lismore BTW and would be interested in sharing some impressions.

JNL - Hipockethipy is short for "Hip pocket hippy", a reference to a previous incarnation of mine (in this lifetime) and that although my perspective has changed some, I keep it my hip pocket

REM - I live in Ballina. The North Coast is certainly an interesting place, particularly planning-wise. I welcome you discussion
