    Vacation Plans?

    Hi All:
Here's the deal, after years of being a virtual "shut in" or "homebody", I decided to take a holiday to somewhere exotic.

The decision - head north from Southwestern Manitoba to the Yukon. Living int he Prairies, I seem to have developed a longing for some topography. No specific intenerary in mind, rather a rambling trip up the Alaska Highway.

The nice thing about this holiday is that I have three weeks to use up (all banked overtime) and I'll still have 3 weeks of holidays remaing this fiscal year. My trip is scheduled for the last 3 weeks of June

Anybody been up that way - anything I "must" see or avoid?

Anybody else out there got any interesting vacation plans this year?

OOh that sounds trippy, rambling up the Alaskan Hwy...

My vacation plans are much more grounded - a family reunion in Pensylvania, camping by Lake Michigan and a Ducati rally in August.

The rally occurs in my backyard at the Grattan Raceway and we have about 8-10 rally riders hanging out at my house all weekend. Hi speed antics by day and heavy drinking antics by night, with juvenile activities thrown in like firecracker fights and pontoon drag races while pulling someone thru the water hanging on to a rope. Last year I discovered my two year old sipping empties and picking up outlandish language from the boys.

I gotta put my foot down this year!

    Also escaping the prairie...

As another person suffering from flat topography syndrome, I'm heading out of Province for a holiday as well. Except I'm heading south... probably down the West Coast to my parent's cabin near Yosemite Nat'l Park. My boyfriend and I are taking a roadtrip in August, and we'll see where we end up. Yay!

I've got a whole two weeks vacation this year!

Heading up north to a camp (cottage) for a week, getting married, and then...? I think we've decided to come back home first, then take off somewhere. The choices are:

    1) Nova Scotia
    2) The Carribean (Cuba, Bahamas, Aruba)
    3) Paris

Okay - I've waited long enough before jumping in on this one. You and Dan HAVE to meet up while you're down there, right?

We need to find out the female perspective on our boy Dan.

    Vacation dreaming...

It's not too exciting, but I'm planning a week long swing through the midwest hitting the baseball hall of fame, kings island amusement park, rock n roll hall of fame, taste of chicago, maybe a casino or two along the way... and of course, the world's largest outdoor music festival:

I've got a week planned in LA and San Diego with my Mom and Grandma to visit my brother. I'm already developing a migraine at the thought of schlepping my grandma through the airports - Buffalo to Phoenix to Burbank. At least we aren't flying into LAX or going through Chicago or Atlanta. We're going to the zoo, a taping of the Price is Right and to the Magician's Club. Woo hoo!

Don't know if you know this, but the contestant selection is NOT random. They interview the audience members with questions like "Tell me a little bit about you" and the producers decide who gets called. A friend of mine goes to the tapings about twice a year and finds that the whackier your story, the better your chances of playing Plinko!

Just got back from Utah, mostly hiking in the Escalante River canyons. Later this year I'm thinking of taking three or four weeks to drive to the IEDC conference (Oakland, CA) and back.
