Even though i work for the local chapter of AIA,
i do not have an education in architecture
(i have one in fine arts - so what do you really do?)
anyway - in my 2 1/2 years here it has always perplexed me
as to why engineers, architects and planners seem to view
each other as enemys - when in reality if all would work
together it would be more beneficial to the community the
are serving - which is ultimately what there goal should be.
i realize that this may sound a bit idealistic
(i refuse to be 30 and jaded) however -
if attitudes are not changed in all forums -
all hope will be lost.

I'll tell you what pisses me off! Transportation Planners and Land-Use Attorneys trying to steal my right-of-way from the parking lot of my nightclub! They try to tell me about "eminent domain"...I'm gonna give them 250 pounds of eminent domain right u p their butts! I pity the fool that gets in my way!!! Arghhh!!!

For all planners out there, beware. Architects and Engineers think of
you as their "jack of all trades" knowing a little of everything but
devalue your overall skills. I wonder if there is any good planning
jobs in Canada left.

Friends of mine back home who continually ask my how my architecture education is going...and along the same lines...having to constantly explain to people the difference between Planning and architecture.
