Looking for planning departments that have amended their zoning ordinance to include an exclusive use zone for sanitary landfills in anticipation of siting of a new sanitary landfill. In particular one of the performance standards being considered is a 1,000 foot buffer around the active site of the proposed landfill. Within in this 1,000 buffer and applicant must either allow agricultural use or provide public amenity such as forest preserve. If this is not a viable option applicant must provide a land value assurance program for all property within a 1,000 foot beyond the boundary of the entire lanfill.
