Is GUINNESS good for your health?

    Drink to your health

As seen in my fair city's newspaper:
    http://www.courierpress.com/ecp/me/a...792775,00.html

"If the guidelines are less alcohol, fewer calories, fewer carbohydrates and, to top it off, protection against heart attacks, blindness and maybe even impotence, then it's the Guinness drinker, hands-down."
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.
    From Electric Horseman (1979)

Reading that just about brought tears of happiness to my eyes! Life just keeps getting better and better. I do believe that I will have to celebrate the occasion with a nice pint!

Aye, Guinness! It's not just for St. Patrick's Day!

    Here are some interesting facts:

The United States' first GUINNESS® Fleadh took place at Randall's Island, NY in 1997.

Around 10 million glasses of GUINNESS® are drunk around the world every day.
On average one Irish pub a day opens around the world.

Robert Louis Stevenson took GUINNESS® with him to the Samoan Islands while he wrote "Treasure Island"

Beer is an ancient beverage that has been consumed as part of a balanced diet for centuries — it contains the goodness of sprouted grain extracted into a rich liquid and fermented to produce a nutritional "liquid cereal" beverage.

    A pint of GUINNESS® cost about 1pence in 1900.
