Guess the City 158: Great Plains Edition

This may be an easy one for some...

A small city with attractive older neighborhoods.

    A nice example of infill.

    A healthy downtown.

Many great buildings from the first part of the 20th century.

That last one looks like a good place to drink.

    This is a rail town.

    Rumpy's over ______?

A church. Note the similarity to the last photo.

Anyone want to adopt a dog?

Don't want to spoil the fun, so I will see what others guess.

I too know the answer, so I will wait also.
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Googled the theater:

    Salina, KS

    Nice looking place.

Except for that weird canopyish structure in the downtown. They need to get rid of it.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

The ends can justify the means.

    It's the prototype for Smallville

Salina Kansas - I've always enjoyed visiting there. They have a great Italian restaurant downtown. The name escapes me. Anyone glide up there with a gyrostick lately?

Too late - I had Googled Smoky Hill Museum to get Salina. But an attractive town indeed! Anybody know the story behind that mill of worship?
