In the news lately was the story of two adult film "stars" who tested positive for the AIDS virus. California is considering inspecting the adult film industry for the first time and require the use of condoms. The article points out Cal/OSHA would make the inspections. Anybody out there considering a career change and becoming an inspector?

While I don't judge anyone who chooses that line of work, I can't feel any sympathy for them when something like this happens as they HAVE to know what the risks are.

I'm pretty sure that the adult film industry knew that AIDS would eventually penetrate (pun intended on a serious note).

How much government regulation do we really need? The industry was self-regulating up to now, and relatively clean. The moratorium on production was self-imposed. I would have to believe that actors in the pron industry are probably safer than many other people who have as many partners, but do not have an industry-imposed testing requirement. Frankly, is the state going to do any better? I doubt it. Of course, it will require an office, staff, contracts with vendors, and of course, taxes to support.
Anyone want to adopt a dog?
