Let me quote a few lines from an AP article I read last week:
"By a 2-1 ratio, residents [of John Day, Oregon] approved a measure banning the United Nations in the county and another allowing people to cut trees on federal land, whether or not the U.S. Forest Service approves....
Bud Trowbridge... said he's ready to use force to protect his property from the United Nations. 'We're trying to avoid a fight. But we still got our guns.' he said."
How reassuring to know that there are people like this out there. (A 2-1 majority?) This seems to me to be a nice, progressive community in need of a good land use planner. I am sure this would be a respected position and the person selected would be welcomed into the community. Anyone want to apply for the job?
