    Who is Wendell Cox?

I came across some articles by this guy Wendell Cox. Anyone know about this guy - conservative planning "expert"/consultant with HQ in IL.? He's written anti-smart growth stuff that raises some interesting questions. In general, seems a little strange. Check out the ad for his speaking engagements! Just wanted to see if anyone had thought on him or knew about his work?

Do a Google search on good ol' Wendell and you'll find lots of articles from him saying about the same thing over and over again. Most people believe he is funded by GM through a bunch of other organizations such as the Heritage Foundation but as far as I know, the link has never been proven.

Basically, he writes articles that against all forms of public transportation regardless of the situation and is pro-sprawl.

Every movement has to have villian... Wendell Cox is the villian in the New Urbanism world.

I'd love to see him and James Kunstler appear on "Planner Survivor"

    Edit: An anti-Cox article (http://www.lightrailnow.org/facts/fa_00014.htm)

    Thanks for the article.

Man, I knew something fishy was up with that dude. "Planning" consultants are another group you don't always know who is bankrolling or Bush-backing. Yikes!

Also don't believe anything on demographia.com without checking it against verifiable sources. Most of it's made up and wrong.
