    Hello

    Hello All,

I've been browsing this website for a few weeks now and finally decided it was time to join! Im only 20 but have been interested in this subject since I was a kid; city design, planning, sprawl, the works. Im a student in DC but born and raised on the eastern end of Long Island...the land of New York City's second homes (unfortunately) . Anyways, just wanted to say hi

It seems like a pretty cool forum.

Greetings from a regional planner in central new york.

Enjoy, but stay away from the meatloaf. And always remember, Guiness and Bailey are good dogs.

Welcome from a DC area planner.

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Welcome from the southwest corner of the one and only Mitten State. You know the one, the one with a big lake named after it.

Hope you enjoy the forum and can find time to participate in some of the discussions.

Welcome from the Hoosier State -- if it weren't for us that great big lake would dribble all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico. Then what would Michiganders do?.

Are you studying Urban Planning or a closely related program?

I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

You are already in that dynamic area between the urban and the regional :-P

Thank you for the warm reception. Well im on break from GWU for the summer, but am going to spend some time in Ecuador and the Galapagos studying the geology and geography of the area. Hopefully after graduation I can get into the urban planning or GIS field.

    Hello and welcome from Michigan.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
