There were a couple of post a year ago on this, but I'm hoping there is some more info available now. The county I work for has been approached by a company wishing to install 100 wind towers dispersed among three different counties. They provided us with a sample ordinance drafted by attorney's out of Chicago. However, I would like to have a few more ordinances to compare before compiling one. Thanks for the help.

We are getting ready to do the same thing here.
How we will be doing it is through amendments to the zoning by-laws with site specific regulations and special provisons to permit windfarms at each of the 50-60 proposed sites. We are using our Official Plan, provincial regulations and a few other things, rather then pure zoning to deal with them.

I do not personally know of any such ordinances but California has quite a few wind farms and I understand they are fairly common in the British Isles (I cannot remember exactly where -- I mean Ireland, Scotland, etc.... my apologies if that is an inaccurate term). I have read an article or two online about issues with them in the British Isles. So those might be good places to look for some samples from.
