    2004 Trash Talk thread

I'm stunned by the first two picks....ignoring the best fantasy player in years......

    Newbies! Gotta love 'em!

Stunned? PM was last year's MVP! What's so stunning about picking the very best player in the league with the first pick in the draft?

I can't wait to see what you pick. :-P

League MVP does not relate to Fantasy points......my rankings for Fantasy had Mr. Manning as the #21 overall player for fantasy point value.

Hey sometimes you gotta take a few chances in life. I thought long and hard about Tomlinson but I've got a feeling that Portis will have a great season with Gibbs back. That said, I would never take a quarterback in the first round.

I agree with NHPlanner. I have been playing fantasy football for almost 10 years and I have never seen a QB taken number one. However if you are gonna pick one with the #1 pick, Manning is the way to go. He is super durable, and consistently is one of the top qbs in the league.

The role of quarterback is changing as the physical attributes of QB's change. They're getting to be better fantasy picks. Especially when they can run, fight off tackles, and pass.

    Edit: DAMN YOU DRAGON!!

i was hoping.. holding my breath that for some reason...tomlinson would squeek down to #15

I'm pretty happy with Holmes at #4!

And Portis doesn't have the same O-line as in Denver...

He's got a new uniform for this year. An orange jumpsuit!

Isn't talking draft strategy a little like showing your cards in stud? I ain't gonna do it, thats fer sure.

I took J Lewis RB Balt. and have PM'ed Planderella to let her know she's on the clock.

right now my draft strategy is about as strategic as our invasion of iraq and the subsequent rebuilding.

I'm probably in heaps of trouble.

    That is great!

Does yardage count from a jailhouse league? :-P

Though he may not see a trial until after February, he might not be available for a keeper next year. Might that mean he will play harder this year....

Football is a violent sport played by violent men. An orange jumpsuit could be just thang.

...as you should be. Priest will lead the league in TD's again.

Jamal Lewis at #5 is a great pick as well. His legal issues will go away (unless of course I offer a trade in that direction, then, of course, Jamal is going to miss lots of playing time this year and next.... )

Portis will have a monster year. I would be ecstatic with him as a keeper.

LT is maybe the best RB in the league - catches a lot of balls too but his TD count will be low and he has no NO NO! talent around him. I had him a few pegs lower than where he was selected.

Peyton is a somewhat suspect #1 pick but considering the keeper aspect of this league, it certainly solidifies that position for the Libations for the better part of the next decade.

Now, who to pick with that stellar #16 pick of mine.....

Do we snake the draft, so that you pick 16 and 17?

You bet. So, of course, while I talk down about having my first pick at #16, I'm stoked at having a solid second pick at #17. Should be just enough for me to prevail in this year's CFFL Super Bowl.

LOL. Look at it this way -- after 17, your next pick will be # 48. That's long enough to take a pretty good vacation.

Ah, nah... let's switch it this year. 1-16, then 1-16 again...

Very funny. I have a feeling that you stuck me way down here just so I couldn't roll over everone so hard this year B-) (yea, yea, besides the Super Bowl of course....)

What the hell are the Cowboys thinking negotiating with Eddie George. Don't they know I'm relying heavily on Julius (freakin') Jones to be my savior this year!

I didn't do it... Nerudite did it! Oh, and Ol' Bill Parcells will rely heavily on Eddie "3 yards an' a Cloud o' Dust" George, making your exciting 1st round rookie selection as worthless as a one legged man at an ass kicking contest!
