    throbbing brain on cars

We've had car threads before, but I am in the market for a used car and am confused by all of the choices! Keep in mind I have been driving a 91 Toyota Corolla (138,000 miles) for the past 10+ years and it's finally doing to that big car lot in the sky.

I want something reliable but not too "boxy." This is something to get me through about 3 years until I splurge for my NEW Ford Mustang

I was thinking of a Nissan Altima? Keep in mind I need to keep it under $10,000.

Any ideas? I appreciate any suggestions!!!!

Wow ... witht hat budget, there's any number of cars you can choose from. For $10K, a four year ofl Honda Accord, although a bit on the boring side, would serve as very reliable and comfortable transportation. A four or five year old Chrysler 300 M would be an interesting American alternative.

You should expect El Guapo to chime in for the Volvo crowd.

I know it's a dull answer, but then again, it reflects the North American car market. We don't get the variety of automobiles that those outside of North America are blessed with.

hey, my 5 grand volvo 740 is the best thing going.... I would get another Toyota ...any of them...then they will hold their value until you get your mustang. ( I ran a 1988 Corolla FX (quite the 80's car) into the ground...and currently have a Toyota 4Runner as well)
