Thread: Hello from Milwaukee

    Hello from Milwaukee

Hey everyone...this forum's description says we should come and say hi, so...hi.

I've been a member of several arcitecture enthusiast forums for about a year. Now that I am getting more into the architecture and less interested in the fluff, I am very excited to have found this forum. It seems to be exactly what I've been looking for for the past month or so. So hopefully I'll be around for a while!

    Peace out!

    Welcome Jack

Please make yourself at home....just don't forget to put the milk back in the fridge when you are through with it. And we'll let you know what your share of the electric bill is at the end of the month.

PS Milwaukee's Best was my poor college days beer of choice.

    The Beast, huh?

    I too am from Milwaukee...

Anybody who uses The Beast as their logo is welcome here. I don't think I would have made it through college without Milwaukee's Best!

    Welcome aboard.

Wayne: So, do you come to Milwaukee often?

Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had it's share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century.

Pete: Hey, isn't Milwaukee an Indian name?

Alice Cooper: Yes Pete, it is. In fact, it was originally an Algonquin term meaning "the good land."

Wayne: I was not aware of that.

Alice Cooper: I think one of the most interesting things about Milwaukee is that it is the only American city to elect three socialist mayors.

Wayne: [to the camera] Does this guy know how to party or what?

Hey, Do I count as a Wisconsinite? I have lived in Madison WI most of my life (from the age of about 8). My mom still lives there. I moved to the Chicago area about a year and a half ago for work and b/c my husband got into grad school at the U of C.
I certainly still identify myself as a cheesehead.

Yaff - as long as you're a cheesehead at heart, we'll count you as one of ours. (Just don't tell Pete-Rock)

I have nothing against cheeseheads. I love 'em and their state because I'm a FIB!

Actually, being a native Michiganian, I see much that Wisconsinites have in common with You-pers (residents of Michigan's Upper Peninsula). So you're all right by me.

It is funny that Illinois people started calling Wisconsinites "Cheeseheads" as a derogatory term and we turned it around and embraced it as evidenced by all of the foam cheesehads seen at Lambeau. I don't quite know how you can turn around and embrace the "FIB" tag.

What would a foam F*cking Illinois Bast*rd hat look like?

I drove through Wisconsin once... Does that count?

And we used to bust on the Iowa folk... As in, Iowa stands for "idiots out wandering around".
