Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.
From Electric Horseman (1979)
I told RJ you would splinter this off. Sheesh.
OK, I'll play. I suck at any new recipes, sewing anything, making margaritas from scratch, dressing for a wedding, making reservations for hotels or restaurants, and otherwise doing anything anyone on Cyb would be interested in (except I read a lot of really good books).
Fixing flat tires on a bike. Pretty much anything remotely mechanical.
Teaching English to Bulgarian high school students.
My entire class skipped today, and I just located them at a cafe.
Easy: sewing anything. Or similar tasks, like knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, etc. Yes, I have tried.![]()
I suck at being tolerant of inattentive/incompetent drivers
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
So much.
* The opposite sex. It's so easy for most.
* Most sports, except curling and volleyball.. It's a miracle that I can ski.
* Playing musical instruments, except the triangle.
* Advancing like I had hoped in my career.
* Recognizing faces.
* Dancing. Really, anything involving complex physical coordination - flow yoga, tai chi, etc.
* Keeping up with email.

Which is why I'm posting on a Tuesday morning.
So many things to suck at, so little time...
Spelling
Anything remotely athletic
Playing pool
Remembering names
Taking care of the little things in life
You haven't ignored the last of me!
I suck at painting and drawing, and sometimes handwriting too, I just don't have the steady hand. I guess I'll never be an urban designer because, you know, it's all about whether you can paint that utopian picture or not.

I suck at basketball. Horribly. So bad that it is painful for others to watch me attempt to play. In high school gym I was so bad at basketball that when we were all being forced to play, I was exempted and allowed to read or do homework. My playing was so terrible that it was a distraction to everybody else.

I feel so much better reading this discussion. Like some others, I also suck at:
- Basketball. I’m a pretty athletic guy, too. Soccer, I do quite well, but something about basketball baffles my body.
- Birthdays. Phone numbers I can remember, but the number sequence of birthdays is just beyond my capacity.
There are plenty of others, but one of the things I am trying be better at is working when I am at work. So…better go…
The purpose of life is a life of purpose
I suck at remembering names. Once I was leaving a phone message and couldn't remember my own name. I ended up saying "This is...damn, I forgot my name". That sucks.

I suck at sports. Pick a sport and I suck at it harder than anybody you know.
"...I would never try to tick Hink off. He kinda intimidates me. He's quite butch, you know." - Maister
I suck at:
- cooking a soft-cooked egg: it comes out either nearly raw or barely hard-boiled.
- skipping rocks on a lake
- keeping track of my keys
- gardening
- fixing the broken chain on the exhaust fan (my wife is a whiz at it)

Most anything math related. I do ok with my job because the math is more related to geometry and I can do pictures. Office budgets and personal finance I do ok, because it's pretty basic. Outside of those, you might well be speaking Klingon to when it comes to math.
When did I go from Luke Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Perfect Soft Boiled Eggs-Good for 4 eggs
- Add 1/2 inch water to a medium sized saucepan that has a lid.
- Bring water to a full boil over medium high heat.
- Gently place eggs into boiling water with tongs.
- Cover with lid and continue cooking over medium high heat for exactly 6.5 minutes (time it!).
- Place saucepan in sink, remove lid, run cold water from the tap into the pan for 30 seconds to cool the eggs down-it will overflow it's ok.
- Peel the eggs and enjoy

...home improvements and repairs
...reading manuals and instructions
...keeping receipts...actually, most paperwork in general
...being patient
...technology issues
...timing three different dishes to be ready simultaneously
EDIT: We need a "I'm good at..." thread to repair my ego.
A nuisance may be merely a right thing in the wrong place — like a pig in the parlor instead of the barnyard.

I can't wait to see that one.
- Telling cool stories/jokes
- Talking for more than 5 minutes straight (could never be a teacher/politician)
- Tolerating bad drivers
"When life gives you lemons, just say 'No thanks'." - Henry Rollins
-Doing more than 1 thing at a time (not a multi-tasker)
-Going to bed on time
-Getting somewhere on time <--> leaving somewhere on time
-Having patience
Everything I suck at seems to have some sort of reltionship to time *cue the Quantum Leap theme song*
Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.
