    Weekend Plans

I have a ticket to this event tomorrow. http://www.coastalwinetour.com/PageView.asp
First wine tasting festival I've been to since leaving California. Anybody else have plans for a great fall weekend?

(BTW, RJ is home sick today ---I'll probably become a nuisance here today; you are warned.)

Heading out to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow with friends. Haven't done that in a couple of years. Sunday is study - I'm braving the AICP exam next month.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

heading southeast with the family to a resort in the lower Hudson River valley for a few days. My wife's got a professional conference there, so me and the kids are gonna vicariously live the rich life.

RJ, I am sick today too!

The children brought in a wonderful stomach flu.

Well regretfully this could be my last weekend, the Queen of unemployment is being considered for a sales job and that requires weekends. So the King and I have to finish up some projects we have pending just as soon as I feel better.

Then Tuesday we are going to Denver for a few days.
It is all a matter of perspective!!!

I'll be sitting at home waiting for new furniture to arrive. Cyburbia will be a weekend wasteland, but then I won't have a computer anyway because one of the things I ordered is a new desk. Everything will be disconnected while I wait.
Anyone want to adopt a dog?

Nap - prepare for Sox Game
    Sox Game

    Sunday
    Sleep Late
    Patriots at 4
    Sox at 8

Yard work etc will have to wait till after the World Series! Maybe by then all the leaves will have fallen and blown into my neighbors yard

I tried to get tickets for an art spiegelman (maus) reading, sold out. The will call/not show up list was even sold out.

May make the trek to the city as I have to pick up some clothes from the tailor. If not, laundry, and starting to do the action plan for the business(what to do and where to start looking) and research on machinery or manufacturers that should be contacted.

If it is warm and dry enough, maybe the last mountain bike ride of the year.

All depends on the weather forecast --
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11am. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly sunny, with a high around 73.

Raking leaves from the massive, shedding oaks in the front and back yards, re-raking the leaves after the dogs have wrestled in the leaf piles, stuffing the leaves into ecologically-correct paper leaf bags, extricating one of the dogs from the bags where he was enthusiastically making a nest and tearing the bag in the process, transferring those leaves and bag into a plastic garbage bag, re-raking the other piles of leaves after the dogs have torn through them again, locking dogs in house, ignoring howls of protest, and finally setting back and front yard alight in a good old-fashioned Midwestern prairie burn.
    I don't dream. I plan.

Finishing construction of my railing for a new deck I've been building. I can't wait. I'm building it in my garage before I take it up to the second level and attach it. It's gonna be sweet. Catch a the World Series and a couple of "New Yankee Workshops" if I'm lucky.

Well, today is my flex day, so I've got the day off. I woke up about a half hour ago and just finished breakfast while wading through the FAC. The rest of the day will be painting to the basement ceiling with stainbuster primer to try to cover up where some of the rainwater leakage happened during the flood. Always something utterly exciting here to do. The rest of the weekend? Well, drywall hanging! I"m hoping to get the drywall DONE this weekend so we can get the rest of the basement done hopefully before Christmas.

Depends on weather (some unsettled conditions possible).

I may do a short bicycle ride. Or, depending on the light, another neighborhood photography expedition/long city hike in San Francisco or the East Bay.

I will probably also do a little shopping for an television/stereo entertainment stand/shelving unit. I don't like "armoir-style" entertainment centers, just something simple and elegant.

Maybe hang out with my sister or brother.

Feed my co-worker/riding partner's dog, as he is at a car show in Monterrey (he's an Audi-VW cultist )

About 15 minutes until noon. Then I start self-medicating. You should do the same.

Weather: Cloudy, going to rain here in Northern Colorado, snowing in the mountains.

Tonite: go to movies and dinner with the lady....
Saturday: sleep in, watch Notre Dame beat BC. Drink some Heinekens and maybe some Crown.
Sunday: No Broncos, if rain stops maybe take the lady to RMNP for some fall hiking.
