    Previous lurker

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am a planner, focused primarily on historic preservation here in the midwest. I have spent a little time out west (Laramie, Wyoming) but was happy to return home to STL (GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!)
I have been lurking for quite sometime and figured its about time to join in on the conversation.

Welcome, from a now Midwesterner who spent much time out west.
    Glad you stopped lurking about.
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Welcome from another midwestener, only I'm alittle north and east of you in the southwestern corner of the Great Lakes State. You know the one that looks like a mitten.

Welcome out of the closet and into Cyburbia. I need to warn you. It is not always safe here.

Welcome from the Washington DC area!
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"

    Richmond Jake -
Thanks for the welcome, I was recently in Florida visiting a friend in Venice, FL, we went to Naples and South Beach...it was great, weather was perfect, right after Francis hit and right before Ivan tore things up. Glad the weather is calmer for all of you now.

Welcome from scenic central Texas, and I promise not to hold any ill-will for you beating my beloved Astros!

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Greetings from the hilly part of the Hoosier state, another planner, and a long-time fan of the birds on the bat. I'm not alarmed at 0-2 but wish the bambino would start working his magic.

Greetings from south of Laramie on US 287 in Loveland, CO
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

I spent most of my time in Loveland, CO while I was working for Laramie. There wasnt too much to do in Laramie so every weekend I would head to Fort Collins and then Lake Loveland.

Welcome, from a fair-weather BoSox fan in central New York state.
All these years the people said he’s actin’ like a kid.
He did not know he could not fly, so he did.
