    Teh Clubbe Membership

? Am I to blow my horn
    or
wait for somebody to recognize such achievement as a member of the 2X Clubbe ?
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.
    From Electric Horseman (1979)

If you want a party, start one. No one threw a party for me at 2k and I didn't want one, so I didn't mention it. I have heard that it is on you to announce and that it is the exception, not the rule, for others to notice and comment...I think that is changing somewhat but still: If you want a party, go ahead and blow your horn.

    And Congrats!

    A) Thank you -- I think it is the perfect solution to JNA's problem.
    B) I wasn't tooting my own horn, just giving an example that didn't point fingers. I could have mentioned that Dan did not toot his horn when he hit 7K but I felt that would be interpretted as "picking on Dan".
    C) The phrase "Tooters of their own horns" is awkward for me and my brain hears "hooters" somewhere in there, sigh.
    D) Since I wasn't intending to toot my own horn and since I didn't want a party, and since the phrase makes me hear "hooters", I would consider it a kindness to rename the thread, but I will understand if you don't.
    E) Whether the thread is renamed or not, I, personally, see this as JNA's party. Please congratulate him. Everyone should know by now that running my big fat mouth nonstop is not some kind of an accomplishment. It is more like "something you join a 12 step program for".

    Off-topic:
You are a hoot when you are on pain killers. I like it when you are mellow and humorous. We should take up a collection and keep you doped up full time, not just when you have multiple fractures. And I think you know full well that I did not want the title changed to include the word hooters. But thank you for not searching far and wide for a pic of a Hooter's gal with curly hair. I might have taken that personally.

PS It would have been funnier if you had included an additional clause in the quote from me, starting with "and since the phrase makes me hear "hooters", I would consider it a kindness..." um, funnier but probably more obnoxious and tasteless. Oh well. I never claimed to be refined.

Back on topic: Way to go JNA.

Living in the metro Toledo area I have only been there once.

Noticed in the photo that the women have typical midwestern curves.

How did you slip past my overly sensitive radar? Usually I do preemptive congratulations. Way to go. Go buy yourself an apple pie or something.

Congrats , and there is nothing wrong with starting your own celebration as long as it doesn't involve this

I think the typical way to draw attention to your Clubbe milestones is at the bottom of your 2knth post is to add "Clubbe Me" or something to the effect. A mild and gentle toot, if you will.

    Congratulations!

Congratulations, JNA. Now get back to slackin': teh 3k clubbbe isn't that far off, really.
MZ: a belated congrats to you. And the same advice as above.

Not if we start a thread on fire fighting, fatty smoking, lesbian roadies with hand guns.
