    How To Steal An Election

....and people wonder how our wonderful Mayor was re-elected amidst a Federal probe into gov't corruption.

Girard Ave., Berean Institute, Philadelphia, Pa, had 300+ votes already on 2
    machines at start of day... INCIDENT: 292 votes on machine at start of day;
WARD/DIVISION: 7/7: ADDRESS: 122 W. Erie Ave., Roberto Clemente School,

Because of shenaningans like this, neither side is going to be happy with or accepting of the outcome of the election. It is going to be a long time before this country is peaceful and complacent again. But was it ever? I predict rioting and other forms of civil unrest.

WOW hadn't heard about that one. I voted about 9:30. Things ran smooth, but then again, I'm in Repo Man's lilly white suburb.

Is that a joke or did that really get put out on the street?

In the 2000 election, gop operators in one state eventually were put in jail while a close white house aid was named as an unindicted co-conspirator for hiring a computer company to stage Denial of Service attacks on Dem, party locations to prevent voters from getting rides to the poles (source: NPR, this american life, 2004 election issue last saturday).

More I found. Strange how they all deem to discourage potential Democratic voters.

I can't speak for the rest of the country, but in my neck of the woods, this simple caveman has been utilizing what we like to call a "television." It's really kind of neat, comes with all kinds of channels and everything. Then there is other invention called the "newspaper." Comes out daily and from different cities as well!!! Lastly, and most amazingly of all, is the "internet." Wow. What Technology the Pacific Northwest has been privvy too!!! Does the rest of the county not have these "new" and "improved" technologies? If not, does Bill Gates know?
    Forechecking is overrated.

Jeff ... you might want to retract your OP. I don't think you will, since doing so will admit that you and Drudge jumped the gun too quickly, but here are the facts.

    Headline from the Indianapolis Star:

Voting list snafu causes problems in Marion County
Some voters have been turned away because their names may have been erroneously purged from the rolls.

"Up to 4,900 names of Indianapolis residents listed as dead
-- even though many could still be alive --
were purged from a list issued by the Indiana Secretary of State office and then sent to the Marion County Board of Voters Registration."

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

There was a discussion on NPR yesterday morning of efforts to discourage voting by minorities in some southern states. Pamphlets similar to those Dan posted have been distributed in primarily minority neighborhoods. Some say that police will be at the polling places to arrest people who have unpaid child support or parking tickets. This sort of thing is digusting and those who distribute these things should have their voting rights permanently revoked!

Funny because this is still being discussed on the news here this AM. In any other city in America this would be seen as a mistake. Not in Philly. A city as corrupt as they come.
