Guess the University But No Picture Provided # 1

Time to guess the school. The school may or not be associated with planning. It may or may not be famous. It may or may not be a school with a big sports agenda/plant. Guess.

This school is in the top twenty (20) in supply-chain management. Many of the graduates of this school have gone on to incredible success in the business world. Athletes from this school have won Olympic gold medals and teams at this school have won national championships.

This school is a leader in collections of materials related to pupular culture.

    What university is this?

    University of Michigan ?
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Yes, Bowling Green is the answer.

Scott Hamilton, skating Olympist and skating pro, was from BGSU. Dave Wottle was an Olympic winner in track, years ago. The Center for Popular Culture is always in the news, primarily as a reference to tag along on any story in the news that is comparing then-with-now.

The football team won a national championship (as a small division school back then) in the 1950's. The hockey team won a national championship in the 1980's.

    Nice job, Kovanovich.....

Not the right answer but a great guess.....Purdue is establishing itself as a prime center for supply-chain management issues.

I was a supply-chain analyst/process analyst for a number of years with HP and I worked with a few grads from the Purdue program. I was pleasantly suprised when I began Urban planning grad school learning about the planning process - It's very similar to the process improvement theory I learned with my Operations Management degree and my projects at work.

We have some similarities, my friend. If you haven't already, for the heck of it, read THE GOAL. Ops people usually get a kick out of that book.

In hockey, probably. Both programs have been very successful, although the BGSU program has slipped in recent years. The Falcons used to have the best arena in the CCHA and that was an attraction for Canadians. Ohio State's incredible hockey facilities (sad to say) now attract a lot of wide-eyed kids. The traditional tough guys of the league are still there, though, including the University of Michigan and Michigan State. Lake Superior State is in the same boat as BGSU......not as respected as years ago.

In football, Northern Michigan would not beat Bowling Green. Nuff said.
