Hello and happy new year:

The Town of Vail, Colorado is re-evaluating its design review guidelines. The current guidelines require the use of natural wood as an exterior surface on buildings. This presents conflicts with building codes and fire conflagration is a big issue here.

Has anyone had experience (positive or negative) with building products that are similar to wood in appearance but are fire resistive or non-combustible? Is "Cemplank" a viable option? Aesthetics are a major priority.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
