    philadelphia planners?

    Hello all,

I am new to cyburbia. I live and work in Philadelphia as an art and architectural historian. I have been moving in the direction of urban planning, sustainable development and housing. I am wondering what Philadelphia has to offer in these areas - non-profits, firms, etc.

It would be nice to meet others in the area with similar interests.

    Best,

    Jennifer

Greetings from the other side of the Commonwealth. You know, from that other distressed city that also starts with the letter P.

Welcome from the Washington DC metro area!
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"

I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

Welcome. I was up in Philly for awhile and really enjoyed it. However, I can't stand the cold so I moved back home to Florida. It is good to see some other architectural historian types around.

Greetings from former resident of the state across the Delaware River,

    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

What he said except that my floodwater is heading his way.

Also, I am a praticing preservationist so I have a soft spot for architectural history. Enjoy Cyburbia.

A belated welcome from eastern upstate New York.
