(Michigan) Downtown development authority (DDA) millage - have you reduced yours?

RE DDA Mills:

Has your DDA has actually reduced, or eliminated the DDA mills your community collects?

Why did you consider it? Did you replace these revenues with TIF funds?

How did you do so? I mean, was it written into your local City/ Community DDA ordinance? Can you share your text?

(Dan) I made some changes to the post: 1) Altered the title somewhat, decoding the acronym and adding "Michigan" to it. The concept of DDA millage is local to the state, according to the results of my Google searching. 2) Moved the thread to the Economic Development forum, which is probably the closest match. Hi there! We do not use a DDA milleage (never have), only TIF. PM and I can get you more info if your interested!

Never used a millage, just the captured tax revenues for bonding purposes for capitol improvement projects in Michigan.

We don't have a millage, just a TIF. We recently expanded our DDA plan area. Its nice to do capital projects using other jurisdictions' money.
