    Hello all

I'm a planning student in Philadelphia, studying with a focus on transportation planning. I love these groups for the ability to bounce ideas around... there are a tremendous number of skilled and intelligent people working in planning and architecture. I hope I can contribute something to the forum.

You've already learned one of the golden rules of Cyburbia. Flatter will get you almost anything you want. Everyone except Michaelskis (who is hellbent on world domination) needs constant stroking to make us feel relevant in this world. Welcome friend !!! Welcome from the weather rollercoaster that is south-central Texas!

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Welcome from snowy Cape Cod from a past transportation planner.
Planning is much like acting, as my old theater professor used to say, "If you sin, sin boldly, only you know if you are ad libbing." I follow this adage almost daily.

    Q. Are you orginally from the Philly area ?

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"
