Now I know why I didn't want to get out of bed this morning...a scientist has confirmed that January 24th is the most depressing day of the year.

OK but look at the bright side, the misery peaked at 12 noon and we are swingin' on the upside.

I would have never known the difference...it's all depressing to me. But I guess today, I have an excuse. Time to take care of a few things and blame it on Blue Monday.

Yeah, this really is a bad day for me. I wish I had a blog so I could direct you pages and pages of indulgent, narcisstic, wallowing in self pity, Wagnerian histrionics.....but I don't have a blog. So instead, I shall leave the Throbbing Brain with the following famous poetic offering, just to show you it doesn't have to be a dark and gloomy day to feel suicidal:
Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored, and imperially slim.
And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.
And he was rich,—yes, richer than a king,—
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine, we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.
So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat, and cursed the bread;
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet through his head.

January 24th? What happened to February 14th? And December 24th? Those have got to be more depressing than today! I'm feelin' fine today!

It's not the worst day of the year here.. it's beautiful outside, I've been married for just over 2 months now, and it's a great Monday.![]()

Not here either,

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Yep, it's here again. Where I'm at it definitely looks and feels the part today outside too!![]()

Cold and rainy all day long.....the day is definitely living up to its reputation.

Yeah, despite the sun and the heat wave (30f high temp today) I have been down and depressed all week. I don't know what it is, but perhaps I just need to fast forward a couple weeks or something.

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

My husband got the taxes done last night so I am not so bad today.
It is all a matter of perspective!!!
OK I must be the freak as I am in a GREAT mood today, I could crap rainbows I think
-I got some alone time with the other half last night
-The dog did not wake us up at 5am
-I head to Fla for a quickie vacation in 30 days
-Its not snowing and its not below freezing
-Im much better off than I was a year or two ago
-No debt from the holidays
Yup I'm in a good mood

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"
Good points. I suppose that I should be in the same boat...
I'll add:
-Paid off one credit card in FULL
-Two dogs (one is new to the house) are getting along well
-I no longer drive to work
-I have only purchased one tank of gas this year so far... (and don't plan on buying for another month).
-My wife is coming home on time and happy from her new job (something that is very nice to see).
So I guess it isn't ALL bad...I'll keep trying...

I'm in a good mood as well:
*Paid off a credit card with xmas airline tickets on it
*MrTresmo is getting paid AND reimbursed soon, so double money also going to paying off bills
*Have a potential new job that would keep MrT from spending 3 hours a day in the car
*Thesis is sooooo close to being done
*I found out there is a rail trail in a nearby city where I can FINALLY go rollerblading
The weather is for crap though. Chilly and overcast. I'm hoping for sun in the next few days.
Way to hungover to be depressed...I am just sleepy .....

- Inside I am computing while waiting on an oil change (the four-wheeler has 205K miles; might be something to this regular maintenance stuff)
- It's Thursday and a short week
- Got my closet reno almost done last night
