As a disgruntled planner, I'm always keeping an eye out for realistic alternate careers in case things don't work out. What about real estate? Does anybody have experience in it? What if you don't have the personality of a used car salesman? What if the market cools down? How can it lead to actual development?
Are there any other careers that Planners can usually segway into nicely without another degree?
Just curious - I'm not going anywhere yet.
I am also always keeping an eye out for potential careers. Have you ever thought about project management (obtaining city approval, etc) for a private firm?
I'll let you know what the opportunities are like shortly. Once I am settled, i am planning to try and speak to a few of the larger commercial (multinational) real estate firms and see if there is a place for me with one of them.
Too lazy to beat myself up for being to lazy to beat myself up for being too lazy to... well you get the point....
