From the AP Wire:
MARYSVILLE, Calif. -- Sutter County supervisors have removed from office a planning commissioner appointed just a month ago, the same day he attended his first meeting. Gabrial Singh's offense?
He called Sutter County "Hazzard County" from the "Dukes of Hazzard" television show last year while running against two of the supervisors, who voted 4-1 to remove him Tuesday.
One of Singh's opponents was Supervisor Larry Montna, who appointed him to the planning commission.
But Supervisor Dennis Nelson wasn't as forgiving.
"When Mr. Singh points to our county administrator in a public meeting and states, 'This is Boss Hogg and this is Hazzard County,' he shows total disrespect toward every person living in Sutter County," Nelson said. He alleged Singh also has had other run-ins with opponents.
Montna, Singh and other supporters said Singh was exercising his free speech in the midst of a campaign.
