    Vote For Your Favorite Haiku!

As you can see from the poll, I've picked the finalists. There were a lot of great haikus, and it was difficult to narrow the field!

They are repeated here so you don't need to hunt for them:

Dan, $15 oil, filter, and lube
    portable sign man
    why do you always forget
    to get a permit

    portable sign man
    the arrow can't b3 blinking
    you n33d mor3 l3tt3rs

    Nerudite, Big Box Lament
    Sea of cars and trucks
    Baking asphalt, why no trees?
    Must protect sign views

    jtfortin, NIMBY
    Don't you put that there
The land should stay open space
    But I won't buy it

    El Feo, Redneck Zoning
    The four G's of good
Guv'mint: God, Gates, Guns and Get
    the Hell off my land

    KMateja's Fifty Foot Setback
    Fifty Foot Setback!
    Destroyer of the street scape.
    where has back yard gone?

    Mike Stumpf's series, DNR
    Ditch relocation.
    A water of the US.
    You need a permit.

    Ditch relocation.
    Restore the natural stream.
    But it was man-made!

    Need to fill wetland
    Created three years ago.
    Why is this so hard?

    New jobs and taxes
    Helping the city to grow
    Mean nothing to them.

    Avoid and minimize.
    Done, now fill and compensate?
    Mitigation sucks!

    We made this wetland.
    Haven't we proven ourselves?
    DNR is dogmatic.

POLL WILL BE OPEN 7 DAYS Cast your vote now!

I will start the lobbying for my favorite on the list, Red neck zoning.

I hear at least one of those comments every day, and people here are only tenants of the crown.

I think some of the other Haiku's deserve recognition as well. Maybe there should be a Miscellaneous category??

There are tons of great ones, and unfortunately folks like Boiker, Rustbelt, Glomer, Planderalla, etc etc got whittled out. I used a few soild criteria -

    -planning related
    -make me smile or laugh
    -true haiku form

and a few subjective ones as well. IN the end, a poll of more than 6 wouldn't have worked. We can definitely open this thread to discussion of the "honorable mentions"....

Don't feel obligated to brownnose the board administrator by voting for me. I'm already flattered by everyone's presence here.

Damn, guess I should have concentrated on planning haikus, and less on other stuff.

Bet I know which one Planderella likes best!

    WE HAVE A WINNER

Dan Tasman has a "Haiku Mandate"! Congrats Dan, and we look forward to your entries in First Annual Cyburbia Limerick Contest!

On that note, in accordance with the policies and proceedures initiated in "Guess the City" I believe Dan must initiate that thread.
