    Kentucky Will Win NCAA Championship

We are still a few days away from all of the league tournaments being finished. We are still a few days away from the NCAA picking their at-large teams and developing the brackets.

My crystal ball shows the following, even though all of the above is still in question:

Year 2005 National Champions: Kentucky Wildcats

Final four (4) will be Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina.

Illinois has played great all year BUT the Big Ten is weaker this season. They will lose in the semi-finals. Kansas will get hot and be in the final four (4) but will not be in the final game.

Kentucky to beat North Carolina in the final, 75-71.

Duke will threaten but not make it. Syracuse will suprise but not make it. Boston College will fall early.

    Puhleeeeze, NO!

Kentucky fans are obnozious as all get-out. The first sports chant I taught my kids was "boo Big Blue!"

Ashley Judd is kinda hot, though. And my brother-in-law would end up making lots of chanpionship tee-shirts. So on one had it'd be good, but on the other it would drive me nuts.

Michigan State versus Louisville in the Championship, with the Spartans winning 77-75.

I don't think you can predicta winner until you see the brackets. Where people play, who is on their side of the bracket all plays into it. Can't really argue with your final 4, but I expect Utah to make a significant impact on the tourney this year.

This Bear always liked Kentucky basketball.....AFTER Michigan. In the 1960's I would dial in a Louisville AM station and listen to "Rupp's Runts" broadcasts.

I picked Kentucky, though, because I think they will prove to be the best tourney team.

I'm hoping for a KU vs. UNC championship game with the Tar Heels winning by 5.

I agree with that but I'm thinking the Jayhawks will win it all this year (I might be biased though)

Awww, you just miss seeing 'em in person RJ. They've got a nice new place to play up here so they had better earn it...

...but you're probably right...anything better than last year would be a treat.

I agree, UK fans are the only fans that make Notre Dame fans look semi-human by comparison. I would love it it UL got further than UK. As for my alma mater (IU), I don't think they will even make the tournament this year. My pick this year is North Carolina, sorry Illini.

Why not. I'll set it up after the selections are announced.

I was hoping you were going to say that. Thanks, NHPlanner!

Bear: Yes, my brother-in-law's in the screenprinting business. He recently upgraded to an 8-station automated printer, but had done shirts by hand for many years. He only does ncaa licensed apparel for colleges and universities in this area but has done some for Miami (ohio).

BTW -- you were probably listening to Rupps Runts on 84 WHAS.

Mich State has a very good a deep bench. That'll keep them playing well in the tourney and why Illinois is going to struggle.

My School and the team i pulled for since 1974 when they won the NCAA Tournment are matched up. NC State and Charlotte. I am going with my school but would be happy no matter who won. I guess i'll have a team in the second round reguardless.

    Not So Fast

Jump-shooting open an old thread.....not because Kentucky will win this year's NCAA......hexx, they already lost in the NIT.....but because today UK fired their 2-year coach, Billy Gillispie.

His record sucked, he didn't get along with the media.....but followers of the program know he certainly focused on his job. But you can focus on a job and not be a good fit. It appears he was not.

Sad for Wildcat fans to see so much change in just a few years. It will be interesting to see who gets the job. Names mentioned on ESPN included Bobby Knight and Tom Izzo.
