Welcome from one of the Hoosiers. I'm a land use and redevelopment planner, so I like reuse (and preservation) as well.

Thanks for registering and feel free to jump in.

Welcome from another Hoosier but in the Central Time Zone.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
    From Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Welcome!
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Ben Franklin

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO- HOO what a ride!'"

    Hello from Houston!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

Welcome from a former Milwaukean! Used to work with the City of Milwaukee. Milwaukee had made quite a few inroads into the redevelopment of industrial areas. Some toddling along, but others like the Menomenee Valley that should hopefullly move forward soon. Additionally, inner city properties are starting to gain interest from developers as well. I don't know how they are faring with the loss of Mayor Norquist and Peter Park, but hopefully some of that forward momentum is continuing.

    Schemeel, schlemazel to you, 411

I've heard Beer Town is a bit ahead of the rest in rethinking and restructuring an old industrial town. I'm way over due to visit some friends up there...I'm sure with that perty lakefront it's a nice place to visit in the summer.

Welcome aboard from "just" down I-94 in SE Michigan... (you get a couple extra s since your from Milwaukee)

    Welcome from sunny Central Texas!

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

    - Herman Göring at the Nuremburg trials (thoughts on democracy)
