1) I am with JMF, I would rather drink moose green the Keith's. Tranplanner remember that AK IPA is now bottled and manufactured by Labbatts. No longer the small brew it used to profess to be.
2) Creemore Springs Premium Lager is my favourite North American Beer of all time. For something special there is this great bar in teh Market in Ottawa that has about 200 beers. When there I order Belgian Krieks and am also partial to wheat beers.
3) For Lager it would be the Creemore, for ale it would be plain old 50 (if I could get it here)
I am also partial to Guiness and Boddingtons. There seems to be a trend here.
Too lazy to beat myself up for being to lazy to beat myself up for being too lazy to... well you get the point....
Well, I am partial to a few beers from Wisconsin.
1. Capital Brewery ( anything from there except the 1900) Try the autumnal fire, a great red that will know your socks off.
2. New Glarus Spotted Cow - The people from Wisconsin know what I am talking about
3. Anything cold other than Bud, or Bud Light. Where I live now, booze is so expensive when i go out that I'll drink whatever is cheap. Beers are $5-$8 for a pint out here in NY/NJ.
Yeah, I only found out the other day that Keith's is actually owned by Labatt. Talk about a downer. Almost as bad as the time back in school when I bought into the "Red Dog" craze, before finding out it was really just Molson. Wonder where that beer is now?
How could I forget Creemore? GD - I love that beer! And the owner of the brewery, who lives just north of Toronto (on the Oak Ridges Morraine) just deeded an easement to the local conservation authority meaning that his property will remain undeveloped.
I got happily wasted at my stag on Creemore (well, the Cuba Libres and B-52s helped...). How soon we forget these things...
If anyone is ever in the PA area, I can guarantee you will all love Yuengling Lager. It is the beer of choice for most of the state, and is the oldest brewery in the US.
There are plans to expand production at some point to offer in areas other than PA but I'm not sure when that is going to be.

Since you are all so into beer... you may want to come to Portland (Oregon, that is) next July for the annual Oregon Brewers Festival. It's a three-day event with 72 independent microbrewers. Largest in the country, and very fun!

There was a PA beer called DuBois Budweiser. They had a big lawsuit with Anhauser Busch about the name. ( guess budweiser is an uncapitolized type of beer in Europe.) Does anyone know if they're still in operation.
One PA beer to avoid at all costs is Stoney's. i've seen four dedicated and quite in the bag beer drinkers leave a bar when a keg of Stoney's was rolled in. It smells like sulphur.

CZ Budweiser is indeed in operation in the Czech Republic and I understand that in the 1950's they signed a non-compete agreement with each other dividing the world much like the Pope and the King of Spain. The Czech brewery has its market area in Europe and Bud is not allowed to be imported over a certain volume. And CZ bud can't come into the US in any volume - Sorry.
There is nothing more inspiring than a CZ Bud Pills. Great brew!
I think Olympia, which was bought out by Pabst, sold the Tumwater brewery where Olympia was brewed to Miller. Miller was producing Rainier there for Pabst under a contract for awhile, but I don't know if this is still true.Originally posted by Tom R
