    Greetings from Madison, WI

I'm a long time lurker here, and have been interested in urban development for a long time (ever since SimCity years ago...) I live in a fairly bland Madison suburb neighborhood, and I hope to be moving to a somewhat less-bland area TND in the future. Looking forward to some good discussion!

Welcome! I live in Madison, too, for about another month. It's a great city to see pretty good planning in action.

Good to see another Madisonian -- I'm guessing you are a student if you are leaving in a month? Have you seen any of the planned communities around town, like Middleton Hills or any of the Veridian Neighborhoods?

Yes, UW planning student. I have seen Middleton Hills- very nice for those who can afford it. Personally, I'd rather live in Madison and be able to walk to more places.

I have not seen any of the Veridian neighborhoods, but have been impressed that the developer is taking some initiative with designing more sustainable properties- but I guess that's what a lot of the people in Madison want anyway.

    Hello from Houston!

Welcome, as well, from another Madisonian. I recently built a home with Veridian in Grandview. Very good experience, and an impressive plan for this new neighborhood. Not at all isolated like a lot of TNDs in other places which appear to be self-contained and not integrated into the city. Bike connections are still lacking, but a new bridge over I-90 with ped/bike capacity is due next year.

    Hello from central Missouri.
I've got an old classmate that lives in Madison. Works for UW in the parking dept.
The most ironic thing - he went to Iowa for grad school :P
