The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is finally completing the last missing link in Interstate 95 from Maine to Florida. A new interchange will allow drivers to follow I-95 from New York to Philadelphia, a journey now requiring travel on local non-limited access highways. In the future Interstate 95 will follow the NJ Turnpike to the Pennsylvania Turpike Extension, crossing the Delaware River and meeting the existing disconnected segment of I-95. This will greatly improve access to Philadelphia from New York and northern New Jersey.
When completed, I wonder what the designation of the current I-95 will be from the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Trenton. Probably just a continuation of I-295.
