Depending on who attends if there are outta towners who are not familiar with K-zoo maybe we could take a walk downtown. Check out some of the things going on like:
The Downtown Movie theater, retail,residential development, and
New Festival site
We would check out the First Pedestrian Mall that was opened to traffic a few year ago and some of the buildings which now contain loft apartments.
Bells has live music that night, GOAT MOTOR (Blues, Jazz, Jam Band, Fusion, Blues, Jazz, Jam Band, Fusion).
cover is $3.00 and the band starts at 9:30pm
I would suggest getting to Bell's early enough to avoid the cover and have one of their yummy black bean burittos.

Had hoped to be able to attend, but will be in Quebec City that weekend. Of the only 2 weekends I have plans all summer you chose 1.

Only other weekend that is booked as of right now for me is the 25 of June.
As for location, closer to Canadian border work best for me.

Hmmm maybe a weekend in Ann Arbor or the 313 (Detroit). As for dates, I will be gone on the 4 and 11 to the UP. So anything other than those dates will work for me.

Kzoo, Lansing, A2 are all about an hour from me, so they all work. I'd invite you all down to Coldwater, which is actually quite central, but this is a LOT different atmosphere from the city. Lots of lakes (but don't have a boat, but could always rent one), farms and a lot of hole in the wall bars (which are actually quite fun).
Also, what time are we looking at? For folks that have to drive further, maybe we could do a lunch with walking tour later, and then those that want to stay can.
Hey, we're geographers - let's nail down a date first and find out who's available. Then use central place theory weighted for each participants' location.....and we'll probably end up in Hillsdale or some such!

Well, you know what...my brother in-law will be in Ann Arbor sometime in mid to late June and we were going to visit him, so I could possibly be available for a laefest.

If it's in Ann Arbor or the Detroit area, it might be a possibility for me to make it as well. Weather permitting, it would be an easy three and a half hour drive. However, I'd have to stay someplace overnight so I can sober up before I head back; preferably someplace cheap, dog-friendly and as far from Oakland County as possible. (OC women always do me wrong, and I want to minimize the chances of encountering them.)

Wild swing from K-zoo to A2! Hanging out with the bratty drunken college kids. I might be able to make this one.
Not too far... I have done this drive in 90 minutes before. (it was the one time that 94 was not controlled by semi-truck drivers)
