Ice skating rink-trip generation
If you can believe the applicant, i have a proposal for the worlds largest sheet of ice here south of the mason-dixon line. So i am try to a number of trips generated by a ice skating facility. I could not find anything in the ITE trip generation manual either for ice or roller skating rinks. does any one have a estimation I may do a study on the existing facility and prorate it on size???
let me know your thoughts |

ITE Trip Generation 6th Edition shows Land Use: 465 Ice Rink
One Observation so use with caution Weekday PM Peak Hour of Adjacent Street Traffic: 2.36 per 1,000 square feet gross floor area. 45% entering, 55% exiting. Based on Seats Weekday 1.26 trips per seat 50% entering/ 50% exiting Weekday PM Peak Hour of Adjacent Street Traffic: 0.12 per seat Pretty limited data, so a study of an existing facility might definately be in order. Scale according to square footage or seats might make sense. You might also consider how many rinks they will have in operation as this could drastically effect the number of people using the facility at any given time, although not necessarily during the peak time of day on the adjacent street. good luck |
