Interesting city. From the air as we approached the commercial airport downtown it looked as if half of the residential lots were on the water. Everyone had a boat.
When we got into town, we took a water bus ride. All day ticket for $5 per person. The route takes you along shops, homes, restaurants, art museum, businesses, boat works, parks, night life, etc. You can get off anywhere and a half hour later, the next boat comes along at the stop you got off at.
Some of the boats had student guides working for tips that would explain the sites, and who lived at which residence, and how much it sold for.
Very interesting and pleasant way for an outsider with no local contacts to see a unique city.
It was a weekend, so we didn't try to see the Planning Dept.
