If you've ever been to Hamilton, Ontario (home of the first Tim Hortons, I believe), their growth plan is quite obvious ... when you're sitting in one Tim's you've got to be able to see the next one down the street; go to the next one and you should be able to see the next ... and so on, and so on.

When I was vacationing in Vancouver a couple springs ago, I went to Tim Horton's a couple times. I thought it was decent chow for a decent price. I hope Northest Colorado counts as Midwest to Tim Hortons... but probably not.

    Tim Horton's/Wendy's combos

I wonder if Wendy's will be rolling out any Tim Horton's/Wendy's combo restaurants in the US. The only ones I have ever seen have been North of the Border.

KFC and Taco Bell (both owned by Yum! Brands) have done this for years, and I can't recall many "single restaurant" KFC or Taco Bells out there.

There are already a couple Wendy's/Tim Horton's combo restaurants in the Buffalo area. One is in Grand Island visible from the I-190 (Niagara Thruway) and another one is in Orchard Park in the Lowes Plaza at Five Corners. I'm sure there's also a few in Wendy's home state of Ohio.

In 1964, Tim Horton, professional hockey player who played for the Buffalo Sabres in the early 70's, opened his first coffee and doughnut shop, named after himself, in Hamilton, Ontario.

Early in the morning of February 21, 1974, while driving the QEW from Toronto to Buffalo in his Pantera sports car, a gift from Sabres' GM George "Punch" Imlach, Horton lost control, crashed, and was instantly killed. Eventually it was confirmed that Horton had been travelling at over one hundred miles per hour, had consumed a considerable amount of alcohol, and had been taking pain killers.

    Enjoy your timbits! Bits-o-Tim!

I have learned, so much about Tim Horton and his restaurant. I can't believe this is such a hot topic. I can't to try the place out. Not know much about this restaurant I have one question- Is this the same place that is in Wayne’s World?

Stan Mikitas is the donut shop in Waynes World. Mikita was also a hockey player. It is an inside joke.

Bottom line, yes it is Tim Hortons in the movie, but under the Mikita name.

Don't know about Wisconsin, but I'm not sure that Tim can compete with Stan Mikita's donuts here in Chicagoland (Party on Wayne!)

If you hear rumour of them coming to your town, quickly amend your drive thru provisions to make them provide 10-12 queueing spaces and to prohibit queueing on a public road. As for the quality of the coffee, urban legend is that they put nicotine in it to make it more addictive.

There are a good amount of Tim's in southern new england because they took over the local Bess Eaton chain. I can't see how Tim's can compete here against Dunkin Donuts. This is DD's home turf and there's one on every corner. Krispy Kreme isn't doing well here at all.

I'm bored which is why I am replying to this thread. I read in the Sunday paper that this Tim Hortons outfit is setting up a bunch of shops in Ireland. I dont know why as we are not overly fond of the ould doughnuts here. Dunkin Donuts opened up in the early nineties, and apart from going in once or twice to hang around with skateboards, and feel as if we were hanging around in the 90's version of a 60's American Diner (if you get my meaning) I didnt see what all the fuss was about. It closed after about 3-4 years. But at least Dunkin Donuts had some recognition in poeples minds as a well known brand, Tim Hortons sounds like it should be a drapers or habidashery "all m'ladys favourite brands of crinoline stocked".

Maybe this has something to do with the recent sucess of Subway, which rolled out about 20 shops around the Dublin City Centre area within a few months. It has been fairly successful, which only makes me wonder where the second biggest indicator species of globalisation AKA Starbucks is in all this. I expect a rollout of unprecedented scale within the next year. Which will at least give all of the may-day protesters something to throw rubbish bins at come May 1st.

Bess Eaton got bought out? Dang, I have been out of Rhode Island for a while. Their coffee is the only reason I got through undergraduate school!

Now that I live down south, it is all about Krispy Kreme and let me tell you I do not go there very because their coffee is horrible.

There are a couple in the Rochester area as well, Canandeigua being the one that comes to mind. I want Tim Hortons to come to Florida, since Krispy Kreme sells nothing but donuts, and once in a while, you just want the chicken noodle soup or the chili. Plus, how can you beat a dozen Tim Bits at 2 AM

Tim's is a slight tick better than Dunkin Donuts in the doughnut department.

    ummm......

    YAAAWWWWNNN......what's that....another doughnut place........GRREEAAT

Anybody seen those Daylight Donut shops in every mid sized city througout the United States??? My theory is that they are a front for the CIA to launder money in the US:

    1. They are NEVER open.
    2. They can be found all over the place.
    3. I've only seen a few people in one of the stores buying something.....

They really only have one type of coffee - plain.

Just order a large double double and a maple glazed and expereince TH at its "best".

As for other foods, here they are moving into sandwiches and soups.

Anyone can compete with Dunkin Donuts

I live in East Tennessee and there are two DD's in this area. Krispy Creme is on its deathbed. Tim Hortons has supposedly expanded in Kentucky (north or the KY/TN border) so why not Tennessee? DD's here are owned and operated by Indians (not the native kind) and we desperately need some Tim Hortons where we can expect English to be the language of choice.

Come on, Tim Hortons, y'all get your butts and donuts done here!!!
