    VCU vs V-Tech

I know that this one should be obvious but I would like to get everyones opinion regarding these two schools. Although VCU is considered to be a 3rd tier school, I like the urban setting and that they are part of the GIS consortium. Ric also has a lower cost of living compared to the Tech campus in Alexandria, where I would attend. What's been your experience? What concentrations are each school known for?

I went to VCU for undergrad in urban studies and was very happy with the program. I'm also pretty familiar with the grad program and think that it is underrated. It takes a very comprehensive approach to the field and is great if you want to study in a city rather than the suburbs of DC. Of course, they have lost 5 senior faculty in the last three years to retirement. I think that they haved hired two GIS professors recently, so if that is your primary interest it is a good place to be.

Richmond is also very affordable compared to Nova. My rent was a third of what I'm paying now in Boston, and Richmond has a lot of great amenities (except good transit).

PM me if you want to know more.

I seriously doubt that. Since 1892, Tech has lost 413 games. Over the same period of time VCU has not lost a single game. And you can buy a t-shirt to prove it.
