    With that, my nutty theory:

    <paragraph deleted for personal reasons>

    In short: maybe you are "allergic" to the guy. Maybe there is something about your respective physiologies which is fundamentally hostile to the health and survival of the other, in the way that the normal activities of normal people can be life-threatening for me because of my genetic disorder, and a similar principle might be causative of autism in some folks with a specific genetic variation, and just like I must stringently avoid sulfur while I know people who actively supplement with sulfur and whose lifestyle I would potentially find deadly.

    First year at my new high school. I walk past another guy, instant hatred... no rhyme or reason. After that, it was a staredown every time we crossed paths. I don't think we ever had a class together, and this was a magnet school, so he could have been from anywhere in Philly...

    Guess what? Turns out we lived six blocks from each other. We ended up meeting through a 3rd party friend who knew us both, and we ended up good friends to this day. We had many laughs over the two years we just hated each others guts for no reason at all...

    Such a thing might be possible. However, we were approaching from different directions. We were walking towards each other and the moment of 'hateful recognition' occurred while our eyes met and we were maybe 10'-15' away from each other. Not likely any substance exuded from that dweeb at this distance (unless maybe the wind was to his back - which it wasn't in this case) could trigger an allergic reaction.

    An A- for creativity, though.

    Ah, but this has happened pre-daddy era with me too.

    I'll give an A-, however, for giving me an excuse to announce to the world yet again that I have a baby son!

    I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

    Hmmm, maybe you're on to something. It's kinda like that but instead wanting to stick your tongue down this person's throat you feel like taking a tire iron to their skull.
    Maybe this same mechanism operates in the opposite manner too.

    Because you love Tate Donovan movies.

    Maybe Abe was talking about this when he said:

    I don't like that man. I must get to know him better.

    Maister, do you think he gave a subtle indication of "my aisle"? I encounter that all the time at discount stores and grocery stores. Women have their carts parked in an aisle, or are moving down an aisle, and give all indications, which I understand immediately, of this is "my aisle and I ain't moving out of your way, you move out of mine". I can't be the only woman who's encountered b*tches like this. I imagine men could give the same impression.
