    Hi from NOLA.

i'm relatively new to cyburbia though i've been cruising the employment pages for a while now. i'm currently a MURP student at the university of new orleans. i suppose the reason i'm here is to connect and communicate with people in the planning field.

    murp....excuse me..

    Welcome from Chicagoland!!!
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

Welcome from the basement of the Alamo!

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

    Hello from Houston!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

Welcome from sunny, hot, and humid NW Ohio. We have corn, so we can say, "Time to shuck!" You have hurricanes, so you can say, "Aww shucks!".

Enjoy Cyburbia but watch where you step.

Welcome from the home city of Andy Warhol. Although, he was a Warhola before changing his name. I suppose the extra "A" just wasn't glamorous enough for a big dandy such as himself, or maybe it's just not as easy on the ears. Makes me think he would have liked the band for which you're named.

    Anyway, welcome.

I just wanted to take a second to say hey to a fellow current cupa student. Oh yeah, and welcome to Cyburbia, from another newbie.

That must make for one hell of a commute. When do you sleep? In your fort at work? Sometimes you're just not right in the head.
