    office parking regs

Does anyone know of an effective parking formula for office buildings? Is it common to base standards on "gross floor area" or some measurement of usable space?

Our standard is 1 space per gross leasable floor area.

Our requirement is 4.5 spaces per 1000 square feet of office.

ours is 1 space per 300 sqft of floor area devoted to the use - it's kinda vague, but seems to work OK.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

The ends can justify the means.

4 spaces per 1000 of GFA

I have problems with this.. It's parking overkill. Storage spaces have to be counted as "office" use and fires up the required parking number.
Dude, I'm cheesing so hard right now.
