Yesterday while on the beach in South Haven, this skier noticed something that he had read about, but it was still odd to see. In the medium size waves where the typical swimmers and several groups of surfers. Yes, surfers on Lake Michigan. Apparently the waves are big enough to surf the waves but are still noticeably smaller than the big ocean waves. A while back the local paper did an article on it, but I figured that it would still be a rare sight.
What sports or activities take place in your area that many people would not expect to be there?

A group of investors are building a 60,000 square foot ice skating facility near here. Here is 70 or so miles west of charlotte in the foothills of NC. They hope to have a youth hockey league and curling. Can you drink beer while you curl?
